Recipe Description
A traditional Punjabi dish cooked in the homes of Punjab using winter carrots that are little sweet and fresh green peas in season…
Ingredient
- Carrots – 3
- Green peas – 1 cup
- Punjabi wadiyan fried and soaked – 1/2cup
- Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
- Ginger chopped – 1tbsp
- Green chillies chopped – 4-5
- Red chilli powder – ½ tsp
- Oil – 2 1/2 tbsp
- Coriander leaves chopped – 4 tbsp
- Salt – to taste
- Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
- Coriander powder – 1 tbsp
- Dry mango powder – ½1tsp
- Lemon juice – 1 tsp
- Cumin powder – ½ tsp
- Garam masala powder – 1tsp
Method
- Peel, rinse and chop the carrots.
- Heat oil in a pan. Add the cumin seed and sauté.
- Add in the chopped ginger and green chili and sauté for ½ mints.
- Add in the carrots and sauté and cover and cook for 3-4 mints.
- Add in the coriander powder , garam masala powder, red chili powder, jeera powder ,amchur powder , salt and turmeric powder stir to mix well.
- Add green peas and sauté well. Add in the wadi and mix well.
- Lastly add lemon juice and chopped coriander mix well and remove from the heat
- Remove it in a serving bowl and serve hot with rotis.
