Recipe Description

A traditional Punjabi dish cooked in the homes of Punjab using winter carrots that are little sweet and fresh green peas in season…

Ingredient

  • Carrots – 3
  • Green peas – 1 cup
  • Punjabi wadiyan fried and soaked – 1/2cup
  • Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
  • Ginger chopped – 1tbsp
  • Green chillies chopped – 4-5
  • Red chilli powder – ½ tsp
  • Oil – 2 1/2 tbsp
  • Coriander leaves chopped – 4 tbsp
  • Salt – to taste
  • Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
  • Coriander powder – 1 tbsp
  • Dry mango powder – ½1tsp
  • Lemon juice – 1 tsp
  • Cumin powder – ½ tsp
  • Garam masala powder – 1tsp

 

Method

  1. Peel, rinse and chop the carrots.
  2. Heat oil in a pan. Add the cumin seed and sauté.
  3. Add in the chopped ginger and green chili and sauté for ½ mints.
  4. Add in the carrots and sauté and cover and cook for 3-4 mints.
  5. Add in the coriander powder , garam masala powder, red chili powder, jeera powder ,amchur powder , salt  and turmeric powder stir to mix well.
  6. Add green peas and sauté well. Add in the wadi and mix well.
  7. Lastly add lemon juice and chopped coriander mix well and remove from the heat
  8. Remove it in a serving bowl and serve hot with rotis.
