Recipe Description

Mattar and shimla mirch cooked together with flavourful masala must try

Ingredients:-

  • Fresh green peas – 1 1/2 Cups
  • Green capsicums – 2 no large
  • Mustard oil – 2 tbsp
  • Asafoetida – 1/4 tsp
  • Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
  • Ginger finely chopped – 1 tbsp
  • Green chillies, finely chopped – 2 no
  • Turmeric powder – a pinch
  • Coriander powder – 1 tbsp
  • Red chilli powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Garam masala powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Dried mango powder (amchur) – 1 tsp
  • Salt – to taste
  • Fresh green coriander finely chopped – 2 tbsp
  • For garnishing-
  • A fresh red chilli – 1 no
  • Thin strips of red bell pepper and ginger

 

Method:-

  1. Finely chop green capsicum and set aside.
  2. Heat oil in a non stick pan. Add asafetida, cumin seeds, ginger, green chillies and sauté for half a minute.
  3. Add green peas, turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chilli powder, garam masala powder, dried mango powder, salt and mix well.
  4. Add green capsicum, mix and sauté for 3-4 minutes. Add 1 cup water and cook for 5-6 minutes till the gravy thickens.
  5. Add fresh coriander and mix well.
  6. Transfer into a serving bowl, garnish with a fresh red chilli and thin strips of red bell pepper and ginger. Serve hot.
